Total Technology has a full-time position available, in Picatinny Arsenal, for a Senior Engineering Technician with 5-11 years of experience. This person will provide support to government artillery programs and their engineering activities, including the development of the Army’s next generation artillery cannon, remote weapons, robotics, direct and indirect (fire) ammunition handling systems and turret control (medium and large caliber). This work also involves the research and development of robotic and automation devices.
Solicit and define instrumentation requirements from key engineering personnel in order to design and machine fixturing
Create and maintain specialized test equipment for cannon artillery
Compile final test reports using data from Test Plan Requests, daily onsite reports, and input from key engineering personnel
Select and adapt plans, techniques, designs or layouts
Contact personnel in related activities to resolve problems and coordinate the work; review, analyze, and integrate the technical work of others
Develop designs for equipment such as special purpose circuitry from general guidelines
Analyze technical data to determine applicability to design problems; select from several possible design layout; calculate design data; and prepare data and layouts, detailed specifications, parts lists, estimates, procedures, etc.
Assist in planning tests to evaluate equipment performance.
Determine test requirements, equipment modification, and test procedures
Conduct test using various instruments, analyze test results, and prepare reports on findings
Make recommendations based on findings.
Associate’s degree with five years of experience or high school diploma with eleven years of experience required
Secret security clearance required
Experience with PCB design in Orcad and Altium preferred
Substantial comprehension of multiple types and manufacturers of various test equipment
Familiarity with circuit design
Experience with motion control or robotics
Experience with signal or power electronics
Experience with a data acquisition system
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and relationship skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work well within a team
Highly detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
