Total Technology has a full-time position available, in Picatinny Arsenal, for a Senior Engineer with 6-8 years of experience. This person will provide support to government artillery programs and their engineering activities, including the development of the Army’s next generation artillery cannon, remote weapons, robotics, direct and indirect (fire) ammunition handling systems and turret control (medium and large caliber). This work also involves the research and development of robotic and automation devices.
Design, develop, modify, and evaluate complicated and difficult hardware devices and systems
Maintain technical responsibility for planning and conducting technical processes or phases of projects and coordinate the efforts of technical support personnel, drafters, technical writers, and electronics technician, as required
Develop and recommend design approaches for new or improved products and processes.
Consolidate results of hardware design elements for assigned projects
Conduct independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material, component or process specifications, and requirements
Evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services
Expertly perform engineering services that may include but are not limited to the following: engineering study and analyses; technology planning; integrated logistics support; concept development; systems architecture development; requirements development; system development and integration; test and evaluation; systems operation; systems design; modeling and simulation; construction; configuration management; systems acquisition and life cycle management in compliance with current Industry and Government practices
Conduct engineering investigations, and endurance and qualification testing on multiple weapons platforms; independently design test setups from start to finish, with or without schematic reference; and provide expert test support on various complex test projects
Give briefings to senior management on the status of current tasks
Advise support staff on all phases of design thru lifecycle production
Bachelor’s degree and minimum 8 years of experience as lead or manager on a complex engineering task (6 years’ experience with master’s degree acceptable)
Secret security clearance required
Experience with PCB design in Orcad and Altium preferred
Substantial comprehension of multiple types and manufacturers of various test equipment
Familiarity with circuit design
Experience with motion control or robotics
Experience with signal or power electronics
Experience with a data acquisition system
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and relationship skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work well within a team
Highly detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
