Engineering Technician

Location: Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey
Employment Type: Full-Time

Total Technology has a full-time position available, in Picatinny Arsenal, for an Engineering Technician with 4+ years of experience. This person will provide support to government artillery programs and their engineering activities, including the development of the Army’s next generation artillery cannon, remote weapons, robotics, direct and indirect (fire) ammunition handling systems and turret control (medium and large caliber). This work also involves the research and development of robotic and automation devices.

duties

  • Perform maintenance, evaluations, and repairs on components during testing, working in conjunction with mechanics onsite; determine the state of equipment to ensure safety when deciding whether to continue testing; maintain inventory

  • Resolve complex technical problems related to hardware and software

  • Follow standard operating procedures, conform to established policies and standards, while using techniques, and standards for guidance

  • Support organizational objectives, operational activities, and service delivery activities for the assigned area of responsibility

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s degree preferred; high school diploma required

  • Secret security clearance required

  • Proficient tool knowledge and experience using welding, plasma cutters, lathe, 3D printer, drill press, sand blaster, tube benders, crane operations, and U.S. standard and metric tools.

  • Ability to read and understand 3D engineering drawings and models from TDPs to build/fix new components

  • Familiarity with circuit design

  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and relationship skills

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work well within a team

  • Highly detail oriented with excellent organizational skills

  • Please note that US Citizenship is required to work on a military installation.
