Electrical Technician/Test Lab Manager

Location: Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey
Employment Type: Full-Time

Total Technology has a full-time position available, in Picatinny Arsenal, for a Electrical Technician/Test Lab Manager with 2+ years of experience. This position entails assessment of the health of test systems and to make necessary repairs as needed or place orders for replacement parts and follow up on tracking and status on the replacement items. In addition, this role will monitor and check the status of our lab support equipment and make necessary repairs as needed to upgrade software and hardware. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, energetic electronics technician who can verify several systems, run status checks and self-test diagnostics and make upgrades as needed and make repairs as instructed to the systems. This role may also include the assembly and repair of electronics modules and cables as well.


  • Conduct checks of lab equipment health and calibration along with diagnosis and subsequent repair

  • Coordinate discussions with on-site personnel to maintain a running maintenance schedule of all equipment.

  • Assist with lab equipment movement and tracking against an approved layout

  • Assist with equipment sign out and turn-ins.

  • Coordinate with other maintainers locally and at other locations.


  • Experience with lab tools and diagnostic equipment, reading schematics, signal flow diagrams, etc.

  • Soldering and circuit pack experience a plus

  • Cable/harness IPC-A-620 and IPC J-STD-001 certification a plus

  • Optics experience a plus

  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and relationship skills

  • Ability to learn self-test and calibration for equipment

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work well within a team

  • Highly detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
