Total Technology has a full-time position available, in Picatinny Arsenal, for a Computer Science/Software Development Engineer with 1-5 years of experience. This position entails planning and development of software associated with the diagnostics and maintenance of defense systems assets. This assignment will involve developing an understanding of existing defense systems elements and creating new software which can effectively support embedded systems, isolate issues and propose the most likely steps for resolution. This position provides the opportunity to lead diagnostic developments and work with a highly experienced and motivated team of engineers. This individual will design, develop and maintain software and firmware components and computing systems software. We are looking for candidates with the ability to review system and software requirements and plan required effort and support needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Software/Computer Science Development or Engineering required
Master’s degree in Comp/Sci Engineering a plus
Strong background in computer science or software engineering
Strong understanding of any object-oriented programming and design
Knowledge of Windows and Linux programming
Experience working with any Microsoft Office API (e.g., Office Interop Objects, Word, Excel, etc.)
Understanding of XML and XML schemas (XSD) a plus
Experience in C#’s WinForms, C#’s WPF/XAML, and/or C++/Qt with QML a plus
Experience with standard interfaces (e.g., RS232/RS422, RS485, 12C, Ethernet, CAN bus, etc.)
Experience with software development environments, tools, and techniques pertinent to military systems is a plus
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and relationship skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work well within a team
Highly detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
